Shady Elm Honeybee Farm
The Shady Elm Honeybee Farm was started in 1993 by Keith and Gwen Snyder. While the road was not always easy, given the parasites and diseases that plague the Honeybee, we never gave up.
Shady Elm now has over 35 hives at six different Apiaries! Each year, we build on the prior year's success, and the hives do continue to multiply! The Honeybees at Living Hope Farm were part of an Eagle Scout project that was started in January 2020! Jack Reed was mentored by Keith Snyder. Jack received his Eagle Scout designation for his completion of this project in 2021.
We are very pleased to be partnering with Living Hope Farm in providing local raw honey shares. No chemicals are ever used in the keeping of our Bees; we only use all-natural beekeeping practices. We offer honeybee nucs each spring and all year long, raw honey, hand cream made with beeswax, honey, Shea butter, emu oil, and other proprietary ingredients.
Thank you for supporting our honeybees. All proceeds go back into sustaining honeybees as well as other pollinators.
LHF Farm Honey Add-On Option:
Members can enjoy a honey share during Main CSA Season from July-October. Each month, members will receive a 1-pound jar of honey from a local beekeeper (Each month highlights a different beekeeper in the area!).
