Strawberry Spruce-Up
In anticipation of strawberry ripening, the plants could use a helping hand. Volunteers can assist in pruning runners, weeding around the plants, and trampling or removing weeds in between rows. Bending and kneeling required. All ages welcome. Limit 30 volunteers. Sign Up

Mulch Madness
The farm crew will be busy getting transplants in the ground during this point of the season. We could use a hand mulching the aisles between plantings to prevent weeds from overrunning the crops! Straw mulch will be used, so those with an aversion to that material or young children are discouraged from helping. Some heavy lifting (40 lbs.) will be required. Limit 20 volunteers. Sign Up

Garlic Knots
Our garlic should be ready to harvest around this time. The farm crew should have lots of garlic pulled out of the ground and will need help getting it hung up in the barn to cure. Volunteers can assist in tying bunches of garlic together and hanging it from the barn rafters. This is an indoor activity. All ages welcome. Limit 10 volunteers. Sign Up

Field Fix-Up
Some of the earlier plantings at LHF will be exhausted by now. Some of those fields will have plant debris, plastic mulch, and irrigation tape that needs to be removed. Volunteers can lend a hand in removing dead plants, loosening plastic mulch from the soil, pulling up drip-tape, and disposing or recycling those materials. This is a dirty job that requires a bit of elbow grease! The farm crew will be all the more grateful for the help! Limit 20 volunteers. Sign Up

Dry Bean Break-Down
Our dry beans for winter storage will be ready for processing. Volunteers can help break apart bean pods, sift or winnow away the chaff, and portion out and package the beans. This will be an indoor activity. All ages welcome. Limit 10 volunteers. Sign Up

    Our Spring Plant Sale is our largest fundraiser of the year. Lots of volunteers are needed to make this a successful day. Here is a general overview of what's needed:
    • 7:30 am - 9:00 am - Vendor helpers- helping vendors find their table and get set up.
    • 8am- 1pm- Set up, helping customers find/ carry plants, taking payments, finding orders, and more!
    • 12:30-2:30- Clean up! Taking inventory, moving plants to greenhouse, sweeping up
