1 lg. rutabaga
fresh ground pepper
1. Peel, cut, dice, your rutabaga and cook it in boiling water. Note: A supermarket purchased rutabaga is dipped in wax so make sure you peel if you are using a waxed purchase.
2. Cook the rutabaga until nearly tender and drain
3. Mash the rutabaga with a mixer or potato masher and add 6 Tablespoons of butter , salt, and pepper to taste.
*A great addition is to saute' mushrooms in butter and add them to the mashed rutabagas.
