Strawberry Hearts - Individual Style
Suggested to be chilled in individual porcelain molds that are heart shaped...but you can be creative with what you use. Wonderful as a first course for a brunch, served with unsalted crackers, melba toast, or small slices of pumpernickel bread.
8 oz. cream cheese
2 T confectioners' sugar (10x)
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
2/3 cup of sour cream
1/3 cup whipping cream, whipped
1 egg white
6 strawberries with stems intact
In a chilled bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and salt. In another bowl, mix together sour cream and whipped cream. In a third bowl, beat egg white until frothy. Fold egg white into whipped-cream mixture and gently fold into ceam cheese mixture. Line 6 (heart shaped) molds with plastic wrap and press mixture into them. Chill overnight.
To serve, invert the molds onto individual plates and garnish with strawberries, either whole, sliced, or cut into a decorative fan.
