Maple Glazed Brussel Sprouts
6 slices maple-flavored bacon
1 3/4 lb brussel sprouts, trimmed, halved
1/2 c. chicken broth
3/4 c. real maple syrup
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp fresh pepper
1/2 c. chopped pecans, toasted
1. Using a non stick skillet, cook the bacon until crisp, then drain on paper towels. Crumble the bacon;
set aside. Add the brussel sprouts and shallots to the drippings in the skillet; cook over medium heat
stirring occasionally until browned.
2. Add broth to skillet. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5-10 minutes. Stir in syrup,
salt, pepper, Cook uncovered over medium high heat for 2-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Brussel
sprouts will appear glazed. Sprinkle with bacon and pecans. Serve.
