V Strawberry Gelato
A great dessert, palate cleansing sorbet or simple addition to an outdoor summer picnic on the deck.
1 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. water
3 c. pureed fresh strawberries
2 T grated lime zest
2 T freshly squeezed lime juice
1 T freshly squeezed orange juice
In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water until the sugar is dissolved. While allowing this to cool, in another bowl combine strawberry puree with zest, lime juice, orange juice, and cooled sugar syrup. Pour into a container that may be frozen...and chill until firm.
Makes about 1 quart
